Elizabeth Gaskell’s House Volunteer

Elizabeth Gaskell’s House depends upon our brilliant team of volunteers to open to the public. We continually recruit new volunteers as we expand and develop. There are many opportunities for you to get involved, from helping in our tea room, talking to visitors in the period rooms, maintaining our wonderful garden and other behind the scenes tasks.

It is a great opportunity to learn something new, develop an existing interest and meet new friends. Elizabeth Gaskell’s House prides itself on its unique experience – visitors are invited to touch, sit and make themselves at home. It is our volunteers who play a crucial role in providing this experience.

You do not need to know anything about Elizabeth Gaskell or the house to get involved. Training will be provided.
