Volunteer Opportunity at Manchester Art Gallery

Manchester Art Gallery put on free workshops for families with children, usually aged 5 – 11 years. The workshops, led by practicing artists, are inspired by the art on display and are about families playing together with a range of materials to look at, discuss and make art in an open ended way. We are looking for enthusiastic people who could support the delivery of our family learning programme this summer.

Dates involved are Tuesdays – Fridays each week between Tuesday 4 August – Friday 28 August 12 – 4 each day. Not including weekends or Mondays.

Overview of role:

  • To assist artists and gallery education staff with family workshops, working with families with children aged from 5 upwards.
  • role includes setting up and preparing materials, welcoming and talking to families, inspiring people to get involved you will learn about family workshops in a gallery setting you will get to know about Manchester Art Gallery and the art on display
  • It’s a great opportunity to work as part of a sociable team.
