Family object handling volunteer, Manchester Museum

Our newly renovated Nature Discovery gallery is an imaginative space that encourages children to lead their adults through an object rich exploration of the natural world. We are looking for volunteers to facilitate object handling in this space with a collection of original objects from the Museum’s collection aimed at under 5s and their families.

Overview of role:

  • Welcome under 5s and families to the Nature Discovery gallery
  • Engage children’s curiosity and interests with original objects from the museum’s collection
  • Share knowledge, stories and research about objects in stimulating environment to encourage learning
  • Support families to use resources in the Nature Discovery Gallery
  • Promote other early years activities and Museum events
  • As a volunteer you will become part of the highly valued Museum Volunteer team with opportunities to take part in further training and development
  • Expenses provided
